A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Ministry of Education and Voorhees University in the United States in order to improve the quality of teacher education.
Through exchange initiatives between Ghanaian and American students at Voorhees University, the agreement will contribute to the improvement of teacher professionalism.
The University’s contribution to enhancing the two nations’ bilateral ties was highlighted by the Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, who praised the collaboration.
He continued by saying that the collaboration is a worthwhile step in showcasing Ghana’s educational assets and increasing our teachers’ and student-teachers’ exposure to the world.
The initiative would not only increase capacity but also raise awareness of Ghana’s educational system, according to Professor Samuel Atintono, the principal of the Accra College of Education, who was instrumental in establishing the collaboration.
With pilot cohorts from Ghana and the US, the exchange program is anticipated to start in the 2025–2026 academic year.
The program will also look at areas where the two schools might work together on curriculum development, joint seminars, and research.
