The first FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 theme song, “On yest” (we made it), by Ghanaian rap legend M.anifest, has been released, according to New World TV.
The song, which announces the launch of the new sports channel for the Togo-based media network, “New World Sport 1,” is dedicated to the supporters of the African teams taking part in the senior men’s international championship this year.
Top regional performers who perform the song in their own regional languages include Samuel Makanzi (Rwanda/Congo DRC), Bass Thioung (Senegal), and Shingai (Zimbabwe).
The song’s release was accompanied by an official video that was filmed by Guillaume Borrelli and shot in a variety of places throughout Africa. It was produced by former PSG striker and international French football star Guillaume Hoarau and Mathéo Techer.
The new song “shows once again our dedication to make this Premium tournament a celebration in the continent, reach the Diaspora and beyond,” claims Nimonka Kolani, Managing Director of New World Sport.
Guillaume Hoarau said, “We wanted to unite all types of musicians and languages together in one song project to invite everyone – wherever they are – to support the African countries representing the African continent.
Through distribution agreements signed with the largest Telecom groups in Africa (Orange, Airtel, Moov, MTN, Africell, and Blueline), New World TV’s sports channel “New World Sport 1” will be accessible in 18 countries to a potential audience of 50 million subscribers. Additionally, it has obtained the exclusive license to distribute the FIFA World Cup 2022TM competition to 41 Sub-Saharan African territories.
