He believed that the memories shared by friends, family, coworkers, and fans whose lives he impacted will carry on the late actor’s legacy.

Adetoyese added that the family was commemorating a life devoted to service, education, and the arts and asked for prayers and support during the time of bereavement.

As one of Nigeria’s most prominent characters in theatre and performing arts, Professor Oyewo gained appreciation for his skills as an academic and an adept actor.

Through his efforts on stage, cinema, and in the classroom, he made a substantial contribution to the growth and preservation of Yoruba theatre over a number of decades, as well as to the promotion of Nigerian culture.

He was a leading voice in the development of theatre arts in Nigeria because of his profession, which included performing, teaching, and cultural advocacy.
