American rapper Cardi B has responded to mounting reports that she is buddies with Super Eagles custodian Maduka Okoye after making public appearances that led to dating rumours.
The Grammy-winning singer, who was recently sighted dining at Gio’s Restaurant inside the St. Regis Hotel in Venice with Okoye and a group of pals, voiced her annoyance at what she regarded as ongoing public scrutiny of her private life.
Cardi B stated in a video that has gone viral online that she feels her actions garner more attention than those of other famous people.
She claims that whereas comparable circumstances involving other public individuals receive less attention, everyday aspects of her life frequently become topics of public discussion.
“No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears. I got all the tea on these celebrities. I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports about it because nobody cares.
“But when it comes to me, I can’t even do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy. You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk,” she said.
Cardi B’s remarks coincide with growing conjecture on the nature of her relationship with Okoye after the two were spotted together several times, including at Paris Fashion Week and a recent trip to Venice.
Despite the increasing excitement on social media, neither Cardi B nor Okoye have publicly acknowledged a romantic relationship.
