The NHIA- KOFIH Successfully Completes the 3rd Cohort Training in Health Financing and Stability Course at the University of Ghana Business School in Accra.
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in collaboration with the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the Korean Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) begun a 5-day Executive training programme for its 3rd cohort of participants across all levels of the Authority from the 24th to 28th June 2024.

The objective of this training is to educate participants to better understand the healthcare financing system and governance world especially in relations to African countries with regards to Population Coverage and Membership, Revenue Collection, Pooling Mechanisms, Resource Allocation and Purchasing, Governance and Accountability, Equity Considerations and Regulation and Coordination.


Participants were grouped into teams to brainstorm on case studies to deepen their understanding and better appreciate the course to enable them to address issues that may arise in their field of work and practice.
At the end of the presentations, participants acquired knowledge in health financing mechanisms and healthcare care systems and their impact on achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030.


The facilitators of the training were Dr Ama Pokuaa Fenny(PhD), UGBS, and support from Dr. Francis Asenso-Boadi (PhD), Director Research Policy Monitoring and Evaluation.
Certificates were awarded to participants at the end of the training.
