Reviewing the report from the elections committee in charge of monitoring the procedure will be the main objective.
The meeting will also discuss the circumstances surrounding the September 2 run-off election between Francis Addai-Nimoh and Boakye Agyarko.
The two candidates, who received nine votes each on Saturday, will square off again this weekend to determine who will compete in the November 4 Primaries alongside Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyeremateng, and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
Both candidates insisted before the election that they would not quit the campaign.
Boakye Agyarko, a former energy minister, advised Ghanaians to ignore the untrue rumors that he had dropped out of the race to be the NPP’s flagbearer in a statement on Monday, August 28.
Boakye Agyarko stated, “I have not made any such declarations with anyone or any media outlet, and I am prepared for the upcoming run-off planned for Saturday, September 2, 2023.
Prior to the scheduled run-off on Saturday, his rival Francis Addai-Nimoh has also said that he will not withdraw from the race for any candidate.
“For now, I am still in the race. According to the rules or the guidelines, we agreed that if there is a tie for the fifth position, then there should be a run-off on September 2. That is what we put in the guidelines. But the guideline is a document approved by the National Council,” Francis Addai-Nimoh pointed out.
