Yesterday, Monday, December 25, marked the conclusion of the nomination process for the parliamentary primaries in the seats where the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has MPs.
Some prominent members of the NPP, including as Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader in parliament, Daniel Kwaku Botwe, the minister of local government and rural development, and Samuel Atta-Akyea, the member of parliament for Abuakwa South, are reportedly not running for office again.
Nominations for parliamentary candidates in constituencies where the Party has serving Members of Parliament were opened by the Party on December 20, 2023.
The Party has scheduled the last round of its internal election to choose candidates for the 2024 elections for parliament for January 27, 2024.
Strong competition is anticipated for the constituencies of Dome-Kwabenya, Ablekuma West, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, and Asante Akyem South. Akim Swedru, Bantama, Bekwai, and Fomena are the others.
