In the Western Region, two suspects have been taken into custody by the Western Central Regional Police Command for planning a heist near Asankraguah.
Karim Yakubu, 42, and Mohammed Abdul-Salam, 28, were the suspects who were seen hiding in a thicket along a portion of the route.
When they tried to leave the area after spotting a police patrol, the cops quickly pursued them.
In an effort to avoid being apprehended, the suspects dove into a muddy pit at an abandoned mining site after the pursuit.
They were successfully arrested by the police after they were able to pull them out of the pit.
Following a search at the time of the arrest, the following items were found:
- One (01) shotgun
- Three (03) AAA cartridges
- One Nokia keypad mobile phone
The accused are being held by the police to aid with their investigations.
