His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana and the African Union Champion for Gender and Development Issues, has travelled to Beijing, China, to attend the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women, which is set for October 13–14, 2025.
It is anticipated that the gathering, which China and UN Women are co-hosting, will reinforce the pledges made at the Fourth World Conference on Women, which was held 30 years ago with the goal of advancing women’s empowerment.
The First Lady, Her Excellency Lordina Mahama, the Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other high-ranking government officials accompany the president.
