Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, the chairman of the Ayawaso West Wuogon, has had his suspension lifted by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to a letter from the Regional Secretary, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey was placed on administrative leave for six months because he violated article 48(8) of the Party’s Constitution as revised at the 9th Congress by speaking to the media about internal party matters.

However, the regional chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, indicated in a new letter that the regional executive committee had received a MEMO clearly saying that all agenda items and important decisions should be sent to him by mail or WhatsApp for his opinion and instructions.

However, a letter suspending an executive has been sent out while he is away. He stated that because the MEMO’s requirements weren’t followed, the decision to suspend the chairman of Ayawao West Wuogon was invalid.

In his letter to the regional secretariat, Nii Ashie Moore stated, “For the avoidance of any doubt, the letter to suspend the Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency Chairman is hereby revoked.”

He said he had postponed his journey to deal with the problems in the area because of the events brought on by the suspension letter in 21 constituencies.
