Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, a ranking member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has accused the NDC government of covertly adding LGBTQ-related material to Ghana’s curriculum.
The Assin South MP asserted that the party had “mischievously and deliberately smuggled LGBTQ agenda into the curriculum” using Teacher Manuals and other Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) in a post on X on Tuesday, January 13.
“NDC has mischievously and deliberately smuggled LGBTQ agenda into the curriculum, printed and distributed Teacher Manuals and other Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) to promote LGBTQ contrary to their deceptive rhetoric of being the party which abhors LGBTQ,” he wrote.
Rev. Fordjour asked for a thorough examination of all impacted instructional materials and demanded an immediate recall of any manuals and textbooks containing LGBTQ content.
In order to purify the curriculum, “we further demand review of all portions of TLMs poisoned with LGBTQ agenda with immediate effect,” he continued.
The MP further contended that the purported agenda highlights the government’s previous repression of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, also referred to as the anti-gay bill.
