Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang stated on Wednesday that in order to reduce instances of indiscipline in schools, the government will bolster discipline and value-based education through the Ministry of Education and stakeholders.
According to her, the government was ready to support advice and counselling and make sure that disciplinary actions in schools continued to be strict and equitable.
When the Vice President gave prizes to basic school pupils for their exceptional results on the Basic Education Certificate Examination, she made this statement.
This year’s President’s Independence Day Awards, with the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” awarded 52 students in all.

There were four special needs children with hearing and vision impairments, sixteen students from private schools, and thirty-two pupils from public schools.
Nestlé Ghana funded the awards given to the pupils, which included laptops, trophies, and certificates.
According to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, the topic represented the students’ appeal to follow the law in order to realise their full potential.
She stated that the government would examine current disciplinary actions to make sure they were appropriate and discouraged others.
She pointed out that this would guarantee that pupils complied with disciplinary actions free from undesirable behaviour that would interfere with efficient instruction and learning.

According to her, the government will keep making sure that every child has the opportunity to learn, develop, and thrive in life.
“Your performance has brought prestige to you, your household, and the nation as a whole. Continue to pursue greater responsibility for a brighter future,” she stated.
The Vice President gave the children advice on how to succeed academically, respect school administrators, choose friends carefully, and concentrate on their objectives.
The kids’ regional representation represented quality and inclusivity for equal opportunity, according to Dr. Clement Apaak, Deputy Minister of Education.
He stated that the awards were chosen after rigorous consideration to guarantee systemic justice.
The Deputy Minister praised the educators for their commitment and hard work in helping the pupils achieve this level.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to carrying out initiatives to generate exceptional students and advance inclusive, high-quality education.
