The Chinese Ambassador-Designate to Ghana Delivers Open Letters to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received the Open Letters of the Ambassador-Designate of the People’s Republic of China to Ghana, His Excellency Cong Song, on Monday, March 30, 2026, at a brief ceremony at the Ministry in Accra.

His Excellency Cong Song was welcomed to Ghana and congratulated on his appointment by Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu.

She underlined Ghana’s collaboration with China and its consistent progress, especially in the areas of commerce, infrastructural development, and capacity building.

In addition, Ambassador Iddrisu thanked China for its support of the recently passed United Nations resolution on the Declaration of the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans and Racialised Chattel Enslavement of Africans as the Gravest Crime against Humanity and acknowledged China’s multilateral cooperation with Ghana.

His Excellency Cong Song, on his part, conveyed gratitude for the kind welcome he received and pledged to continue bolstering Ghana-China relations.

In addition to the growing number of Chinese businesses, educational exchanges, and development cooperation projects in Ghana, he highlighted the two nations’ consistent trade growth.

He stated that the Embassy would collaborate closely with the Ministry to promote practical cooperation between the two nations and that China supports the Government’s Reset Agenda.
