A 56-year-old security guard at the Ayeduase Roman Catholic Junior High School has been brought before the Asokore Mampong District Court on charges of allegedly raping and extorting two Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology students.
Lloyd Kwaku Boateng is being detained on charges of intimidating two female students in February and on April 4, 2026, as well as sexual assault and money extortion.
First Incident
The first recorded sexual assault case involving the accused occurred on February 13, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police prosecutors informed the Asokore Mampong District Court.
An anonymous 22-year-old KNUST student went to the Ayeduase Roman Catholic School grounds with her boyfriend.
The court, presided over by Her Worship Hilda Esther Wryter, was informed that Boateng allegedly approached the two lovers while they were cuddling and proceeded to accuse them of having sex.
According to the police, the accused then violently attacked the boyfriend.
Along with taking their cell phones and room keys, he allegedly demanded GH300 from the complainant’s boyfriend before making him leave the school grounds.
Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare, the police prosecutor, clarified that the accused reportedly threatened to humiliate the complainant by stripping her naked and parading her by the side of the road while they were alone.
Despite her physical resistance, he allegedly forced her into one of the classrooms, overcame her, and sexually assaulted her.
Second Incident
Two months later, on April 4, 2026, a second student, age 23, reported a similar experience to the KNUST police, the court was informed.
The complainant went to the school grounds that night with her boyfriend, Daniel, in search of some fresh air.
As usual, Boateng allegedly used his security post to intimidate them by accusing the two of breaking school policy by going to the school grounds at night.
He allegedly dragged the guy away while intimidating the couple.
He allegedly kidnapped the complainant a little while later and held her captive until the early hours of the next day, April 5, 2026.
He allegedly threatened the complainant with a knife before forcing her to have sex. He allegedly coerced the complainant into transferring GH₵ 150.00 from her mobile money wallet to the accused’s account.
Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare claims that the accused also allegedly took the complainant’s naked photos and threatened to make them public if she reported the incident to the authorities.
When Boateng tried to employ the same methods on another possible victim on April 13, 2026, he was taken into custody.
One of the victims’ boyfriend caught him and turned him over to the police with the assistance of neighbourhood members.
Both complainants’ medical records from police investigations were properly filed and approved by medical personnel, attesting to the physical trauma sustained. However, Boateng refuted the accusations in his warning to the police.
Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare pleaded with the judge to place the accused in police detention while they finished their investigation.
According to him, duplicate dockets have been sent to the Attorney General’s Office for advice.
While Boateng is on remand, the case has been adjourned to May 8, 2026.
