A trapped person was saved by firefighters from the Konongo-Odumasi Fire Station when an STC bus and a Kia Picanto taxi collided at Konongo Akrantiebesa, close to the Next Bon Gas Filling Station, that evening.
The taxi’s engine compartment was totally wrecked in the collision, which left both cars severely damaged.
Bystanders saved three injured people, who were taken to Steward Hospital before firefighters could arrive.
In the meantime, a fourth victim who was stranded in the taxi was successfully freed by the crew, and they made sure he was treated at the Asante Akyem Central Hospital.
No fatalities were reported, however four persons were hurt in the collision.
The accident’s cause is being investigated thoroughly.
