The Rt. Hon. Speaker and leadership of Ghana’s Parliament received a courtesy call from a six-member delegation of UK lawmakers led by Hon. Bellavia Janet Roberto-Addy and two representatives of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).
The visit represents yet another turning point in Ghana’s long-standing parliamentary relations with the UK.
The meeting’s discussions centred on important topics of shared interest, including as migration, renewable energy, and trade cooperation.

In his welcome remarks, the Rt. Hon. Speaker emphasised Ghana’s strong commitment to regional cooperation and international trade, pointing out that the country’s strategic role in promoting trade integration across the continent is highlighted by the decision to locate the headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Ghana.
The UK team will also interact with the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs and the Committee on Human Rights during their visit.
It is anticipated that these sessions would strengthen parliamentary discourse and encourage additional cooperation between the two chambers on matters of common democratic and developmental significance.
