Ghana’s Black Stars drew 1-1 with Wales in a friendly yesterday, Tuesday, extending their losing streak to six matches.
Three minutes into stoppage time, Lewis Koumas scored with a diving header as Ghana appeared headed for a victory that would lift their spirits before they left for this month’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Ernest Nuamah’s explosive run from the halfway line gave Ghana the lead in the 66th minute when substitute Caleb Yirenkyi converted from close range after grabbing a rebound off the post.
In a game that Wales dominated but was unable to take advantage of, it was one of Ghana’s seldom excursions forward.
In the first half, Ghanaian goalie Lawrence Ati-Zigi palmed away a point-blank header from Dan James, who then struck the crossbar minutes later, giving the home team their best chance. On June 17, Ghana will play their first World Cup match in Group L against Panama in Toronto.
