Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) personnel are reacting to a fire that has started close to Accra’s Central Police Station.
Firefighters from the Accra City Fire Station were spearheading attempts to contain the fire, according to a Facebook post from the GNFS. The Ministries, Parliament, and Industrial Area Fire Stations were providing extra support.
The Service reports that three more fire tenders have been sent to help contain the fire and stop it from spreading to adjacent buildings.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined by the authorities, and neither the extent of the damage nor any injuries have been recorded.
Firefighting activities continue while emergency workers stay on the scene.
