The conviction and sentence of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, have been applauded by Kwame A Plus.
On Monday, July 20, 2026, an Accra High Court found Wontumi guilty of illegal mining offences connected to Akonta Mining Company Limited’s concession at Samreboi in the Western Region and sentenced him to a total of 40 years in prison, 20 years on the first count and another 20 years of hard labour on the fourth count.
Soon after the verdict, Kwame A Plus responded on Facebook.
“Yesterday’s, today’s, tomorrow. God is good! Next time!!!,” he wrote.
He included images of other articles in which Wontumi had openly demanded his arrest, which was widely interpreted as a stark reminder of their long-standing political and personal enmity.
