President John Dramani Mahama yesterday, joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership in formally renaming the party’s national headquarters the Jerry John Rawlings House in remembrance of the late Flt, the party’s founder and former president. Lieutenant John Rawlings.
A bust of the late statesman was also unveiled by the President as part of events commemorating his 79th birthday.
Speaking to the assembly, President Mahama discussed Rawlings’ humility and disclosed that the previous president had repeatedly turned down requests to have national landmarks named in his honour.
He urged Ghanaians to embrace the principles of integrity, responsibility, and selfless service to the country in order to honour Rawlings’ lasting legacy.
