Black Stars head Coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana is committed to winning victory when they face Colombia in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32 showdown at Kansas City Stadium.

Speaking at the official pre-match press conference on Thursday, Queiroz promised supporters an exciting match between two outstanding teams with distinct styles and characterised the knockout tie as a crucial game for both clubs.

“With both teams committed to winning the game, creating entertainment, and for sure, both teams trying to bring the best results home,” Queiroz said. “I hope with the right inspiration and the right attitude, we’ll be able to be a better team on the pitch tomorrow.” Queiroz said.

He highlighted that the Black Stars’ focus is completely on delivering for their followers.

“Of course, get the result that our fans expect from us. With all due respect to Colombia, of course. But this is our commitment for tomorrow,” he added.

Ghana stayed in Providence for their three Group L games against Panama, England, and Croatia before arriving in Kansas City on Wednesday night. All 25 players who were available participated in the team’s last training session on Thursday morning at Sporting Kansas Stadium.

Ghana faces Colombia on Saturday, July 4 at 1:30 am at Kansas City Stadium. The winner advances to the Round of 16 to play Switzerland.

If Ghana wins, they would go to the World Cup round of 16 for the first time since South Africa in 2010.
