Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyer, the Member of Parliament for Agona East, has reiterated her dedication to making sure that development benefits every community within the constituency.
During the commissioning and handover of a recently built AstroTurf in Agona Nantifa, she offered the assurance, characterising the facility as the realisation of a significant campaign pledge made prior to the 2024 general election.
According to Mrs. Sawyer, the AstroTurf would help talent identification, foster youth development, and offer a secure recreational area for the neighbourhood.
The facility is part of the constituency’s larger development goal, she said, adding that a number of road infrastructure, health, and education projects are nearing completion and would be put into service in the upcoming months.
In order to boost local economic activity and provide young people with work prospects, the MP also revealed that she had engaged investors interested in building factories in the constituency.
She assured the chiefs and people of Agona East that further development projects will be carried out throughout the constituency and urged them to continue supporting her and President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, who also spoke to the crowd, asked locals to preserve and preserve the AstroTurf and praised the MP for keeping her word to the Agona Nantifa community.
He urged the community to assume joint responsibility for maintaining the facility for future generations, stating that inadequate maintenance continues to be one of the nation’s biggest problems, frequently resulting in the quick deterioration of public infrastructure.
Additionally, Mr. Debrah promised to assist the constituency’s development endeavours going forward.
Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Central Regional Chairman, also praised the MP for her dedication to Agona East’s development.
He stated that a number of initiatives are presently being carried out throughout the area and asked citizens to keep helping Mrs. Sawyer so that she may carry out additional development.
The Chief of Agona Nantifa, meanwhile, urged the government to designate Mrs. Sawyer as a minister.
The chief claims that the MP would effectively serve the nation at a higher position and has shown passion, experience, and dedication to the development of Agona East.
