Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Communication Director for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, has formally announced his intention to run for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Communications Director post.
Mr. Aboagye announced his candidature, citing his years of devotion to the party and his desire to fortify and improve the NPP’s communication systems in preparation for upcoming elections.
He described himself as someone who started at the bottom and worked his way up to become a vital member of the NPP’s communication team.
“I built everything I have from the ground up for this party. From a young man at Larteh Methodist Primary School polling station who believed, to a campaign communications director who went to war for this party on the biggest stage,” he said.
Mr. Aboagye, who was said to have organised and communicated for the party for 23 years, contended that the NPP needs a communications head who can do more than just react to political rivals but also create a robust structure that can influence public discourse.
Recognising the party’s loss in the general elections of 2024, he said he had examined the errors and found weaknesses that needed to be fixed.
He asserts that the NPP needs to re-establish public confidence and successfully convey its accomplishments to Ghanaians.
According to him, the party’s future communications head needs to build a more robust network that empowers communicators at every level, from constituency structures to national leadership.
Mr. Aboagye stated that he would concentrate on assisting the NPP in regaining the trust of the public and getting the party ready for upcoming elections.
