The late Apostle Prof. Dr. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s family has denied social media rumours that his funeral has been planned, saying that no formal date has been chosen for his final funeral ceremonies and burial.
Following the reading of the well-known inventor’s will, the family issued a statement with the clarification in an effort to dispel increasing rumours about the funeral plans.
The family will only reveal the formal funeral date and schedule once all required procedures have been completed, according to the statement, which states that talks and consultations are still pending.
The family further distanced itself from invitation cards, flyers, posters, and social media posts that are currently making the rounds online, including those that list the dates of the funeral as July 30, July 31, and August 28, 2026.
It underlined that the family has not authorised, approved, or issued any of the documents that are now in circulation.
“The Family has announced no official date for the burial and final funeral rites. The Family will communicate the approved funeral date and programme only after the necessary consultations have been concluded,” the statement stated.
According to the statement, the family is dedicated to making sure that the funeral arrangements are carried out in accordance with the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s desires, the family’s traditions, and all pertinent administrative and customary procedures.
The family has advised the public and media to ignore any unconfirmed claims and only depend on information provided by authorised family representatives until an official announcement is made.
