Rashid Ahmed, also known as Anata, 35, has entered a not-guilty plea after being accused of defiling 12 schoolgirls in Wa who were between the ages of 9 and 15.

The accused is accused of luring the girls into his home and a neighboring bush between 2021 and 2023, defiling them, and then giving them GH $10.

Additionally, he offers to utilize his position as a wedding MC to persuade them to dance on stage at such occasions.

Anata reportedly cautioned the girls against discussing the incident with others.
After the police received a formal report, the offender was apprehended in Wa and charged.

When the case was read in court on Monday, August 14, 2023, Rashid Ahmed entered a not-guilty plea to each allegation.

However, the judge granted the prosecution’s request for the case to be heard every day.

Saeed Abdul Shakur, the prosecuting attorney, expressed confidence that the defendant, who had been accused of similar crimes in 2014 but was freed owing to a lack of witnesses, would be brought to justice this time around with strong supporting evidence and eyewitnesses.

The Department of Children’s regional head for the Upper West commended the police for their efforts and urged locals to bring to light anyone whose conduct has a detrimental effect on children’s development.

The general public and the media were urged to keep following the case and support the judiciary in bringing it to a successful conclusion.

Rashid Ahmed, however, has been detained by police until the outcome of the case.
