National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy National Women’s Organiser Dzifa Tegah has announced her intention to contest the position of Deputy General Secretary in the party’s upcoming national executive elections scheduled for December 19, 2026.

Ms. Tegah said her experience in grassroots mobilisation, party organisation and women’s empowerment had prepared her to take on a broader leadership role within the NDC’s national administration.

Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson on Accra FM’s morning programme, Ghana Yensom, she highlighted her contribution to making the party’s women’s wing more attractive to young women.

“I made the women’s wing attractive for the young girls,” she stated.

Her decision to contest the Deputy General Secretary position reflects her ambition to contribute further to the development of the NDC’s organisational structures and strengthen coordination between the party’s national leadership and members across the country.

Dzifa Tegah Outlines Vision for NDC Administration

The NDC Deputy National Women’s Organiser believes her experience working with party members at the grassroots level has given her the skills needed to improve the administration of the party’s national secretariat.

She has pledged to prioritise effective communication, administrative efficiency and stronger engagement between national executives and constituency-level members.

According to Ms. Tegah, her leadership would seek to ensure that every NDC member feels included in the party’s decision-making processes and activities.

“I will bring the Secretariat closer to every member of the NDC,” she previously declared while announcing her candidacy at Rawlings House in Accra.

Her proposed approach centres on building a more accessible party administration, strengthening internal coordination and encouraging greater participation among members.

NDC Deputy General Secretary Race Attracts Contestants

Dzifa Tegah’s declaration comes as the NDC prepares for its national executive elections, during which party members will elect leaders to manage its affairs and coordinate organisational activities.

The party is expected to hold the elections on December 19, 2026, with eleven people reportedly having picked nomination forms to contest the Deputy General Secretary position.

The contest is expected to draw attention as aspirants present their leadership credentials and plans for improving the party’s internal structures.

For Ms. Tegah, her background in grassroots mobilisation and women’s political participation forms a central part of her campaign message as she seeks to expand her influence within the party.

Dzifa Tegah Appeals to NDC Delegates for Support

The aspiring Deputy General Secretary has appealed to delegates to support her candidature in the upcoming NDC national executive elections.

She has pledged to strengthen party structures, promote grassroots participation and encourage an inclusive approach to party administration.

Her campaign comes at a significant time for the NDC as it prepares for the 2028 general elections. The party’s next national executives will play an important role in coordinating party activities, mobilising supporters and consolidating organisational structures ahead of the national polls.

If elected, Ms. Tegah would seek to use her experience in the women’s wing to contribute to a more effective and responsive national secretariat.

The outcome of the December 2026 elections will determine the composition of the NDC’s national leadership team and the direction of its organisational preparations for the next general election.
