The Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) to improve access to affordable and sustainable housing in Ghana.

She made this known during the launch of GREDA’s 2026 Housing Fair, which is scheduled to take place later this year. The event is expected to create opportunities for stakeholders in the real estate and construction industries to showcase housing projects and explore innovative property development solutions.

Hon. Tetteh-Agbotui emphasised the importance of partnerships between government and private real estate developers in addressing Ghana’s housing deficit. She stated that the government is prepared to work with GREDA through effective policies, financing arrangements and innovative housing initiatives to provide decent and affordable homes for Ghanaians.

The Deputy Minister also encouraged GREDA to expand its operations beyond southern Ghana and extend its housing development activities to other regions of the country.

According to her, decentralising the association’s activities would help address regional development inequalities, stimulate local economies and create additional opportunities in the housing, real estate and construction sectors.

The initiative is expected to contribute to broader economic growth while making housing opportunities more accessible to people across Ghana.
