The Takoradi Constituency Member of Parliament, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, hosted a community engagement session where a concerned resident of Amanful West asked a question that led to this constructive development.

These community activities were started by Mr. Mensah, who is also the regional minister, in order to strengthen ties with his residents and better comprehend their difficulties.

Residents frequently voiced their concerns about the interchange construction delay during the event.

The project’s suspension was caused by conversations and agreements with financiers and stakeholders, Mr. Mensah informed them, and he later verified that work will resume by the end of September.

The three-tiered PTC Interchange was initially supposed to be a 30-month project, with a target completion date of July of the same year.

The Sinohydro Corporation will carry out the project’s implementation under a barter trade arrangement, with funding provided for it by the Ghanaian and Chinese governments’ Master Project Support arrangement.

However, a miscommunication resulting from a Finance Ministry declaration regarding probable project reprioritization caused the project to be suspended in January.
