On Wednesday 13th September, 2023, The Hon. Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Lands and Forestry,
Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio led a team of officers from the Ministry in charge of the Ghana Forest Investment Project (GFIP), Mr. Tabi Agyarko (Project Manager) and Mr. Macdana Yunus(Chief Planning Officer),and the Forest Services Division of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Hugh Brown (Executive Director) on a two day working visit to the Bekwai and Bibiana Forest Districts to as a matter of necessity ascertain the progress of works on the ongoing World Bank/GFIP reclamation projects.




Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the visit, Hon. Benito, expressed his satisfaction with the work done so far in the Supuma Forestry(Bekwai District)and encouraged the contractor and his team to ensure that they deliver a perfect finishing to the task assigned.
The Hon. Deputy Minister before going to the project site(Supuma forest)in the Bekwai Forest District paid a swift visit to staff of the Bekwai Forestry Commission to interact with them and commended the staff for their hard work and dedication in helping to reduce the illegalities in the forest district.
He also assured them of government’s unwavering commitment and support in any possible way to make their work easier.
As part of the inspection, the team is set to move to Bibiani today 14th September, 2023 to finalise the two -day working tour.
