Sam Nartey George, the representative for Ningo-Prampram, has asked that meetings of the ad hoc committee established to look into accusations made by the Minority against the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, be broadcast on television.
On Thursday, November 10, 2022, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alban Bagbin, appointed an 8-member committee to look into the claims, which was co-chaired by the MPs for Adansi-Asokwa and Bolgatanga East.
In the sake of transparency and accountability, he stated, “I want to make a plea that the committee meetings be televised live given the magnitude of the case and be made public just like the Sputnik V committee.”
On the minority side are Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, and Bernard Ahiafor, while on the majority side are Patrick Yaw Boamah, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, and Andrew Agyapa Mercer. The committee has seven days to present its report.
