Businessman and professor Richard Kofi Asiedu won the primary election for Central Regional Chairman of the major opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The billionaire will spearhead the NDC’s effort to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the general elections of 2024.

Prior to earning the NDC position, Prof. Asiedu served as secretary to the boards of both Kwanyarko Senior High School and Assinman Mutual Health Insurance Scheme.

Theophilus Aidoo Mensah, the candidate with the most votes (245), lost to Prof. Asiedu, an entrepreneur and expert in human development.
