Ghanaians are being urged by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to vote in large numbers in tomorrow’s district level assembly elections.
“It is an integral part of our governance processes, and indeed forms the fulcrum of Ghana’s local and decentralization governance, which was birthed by the first government of the Fourth Republic, under the able leadership of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings of blessed memory,” the party said in explaining the exercise.
Ghana’s local government system has received praise both domestically and internationally for providing genuine meaning to local government and citizen participation in development, according to a party statement signed by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the party.
