With over 95% of Junior High School (JHS) graduates placed successfully, the 2023 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) has the highest placement rate to date.
The excellent outcome was lauded by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, who highlighted the improved confidence and interest shown by stakeholders, parents, and students in the CSSPS.
Speaking to the media following his meeting with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs in Kumasi, Dr. Adutwum highlighted the notable increase in placement compared to the initial 81% automatic placement three weeks earlier.
He thanked all parties involved for their contributions and attributed the success to the ministry’s and affiliated organizations’ wise actions.
The minister had the opportunity to discuss the ongoing reforms in the country’s education system, with a focus on the Ashanti Region, when he visited the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs at their invitation.
The conference, which was chaired by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, gave Dr. Adutwum a chance to discuss the several policies and interventions that are promoting educational change.

Without a question, significant change is occurring. Dr. Adutwum said, “STEM education has been given a major boost.”
While acknowledging certain difficulties, the minister was pleased to achieve over 95% placement, highlighting the country’s advancement.
He expressed gratitude to parents for their cooperation in following placement procedures and promised more deliberate efforts to improve the nation’s educational system.
In addition to praising Dr. Adutwum’s vision and dedication to using education to develop the country, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II promised the support of the traditional authority in fostering an atmosphere that will promote education in all areas.
