The eight-member ad hoc committee that looked into accusations made in a resolution of censure against Ken Ofori Atta, the finance minister, has delivered its findings to Parliament.
This comes as the committee asked the Speaker of the House, Alban Bagbin, for more time to complete its report following the conclusion of public hearings last Friday.
The committee looked into claims that the Finance Minister had illegally withdrew money for the National Cathedral project from the consolidated fund, that the economy had been grossly mismanaged, and that financial irresponsibility had caused the collapse of the Ghana Cedi. These claims were the basis for a motion of censure brought by the minority in parliament.

The Minority in Parliament moved to reprimand Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on October 25, 2022.
The majority of MPs, who numbered around 80, attended a news conference at the same time to call for the resignation of Charles Adu Boahen, the then-Minister of State in charge of Finance at the Ministry of Finance, and the Finance Minister for failing to control the economy.
The NPP MPs, however, did not assist the NDC MPs in their endeavor.
They claim that even while they want the Finance Minister gone, they would only do it under their own conditions.
They maintained that the Minority only cared about local matters.
