4 Firefighters Tragically Injured During Fire Combat

During a severe fire in Westlands, in West Legon, an Accra suburb, the last floor of a two-story retail complex collapsed, injuring four firefighters from the Legon fire station.

The building’s fall and the fire are being looked into, according to the Ghana National Fire Service.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Ghana National Fire Service received a distress call reporting a building fire at Westlands, located in West Legon. The first responders battling the fire were the Legon Fire Station.

The procedure resulted in injuries to four firefighters.

Currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Legon, two fire personnel are in serious condition and are being admitted.

The private medical facility where they were first receiving treatment, Medifem Hospital, referred them. Following treatment, the other two policemen who had minor injuries were released from service.
