The Minister Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and a delegation from the Ministry visited some of the Ministry’s housing infrastructure in some parts of Accra.



Housing Projects visited were:
1. A 1,072 housing unit developed and completed by the TDC Ghana Limited, an entity of the Ministry at Community 26 Kpone Affordable Housing Project with a further 832 housing units currently under construction.
2. An ongoing 8,000 housing units Pokuase Affordable Housing Project.
3. A 320 housing units Security Services Housing Project in Tesano which is being readied for inauguration.
4. A-100 housing units Redevelopment Housing Programme for Government workers located in Lartebiokorshie.


The above housing developments should deliver more than 10,000 housing units by the time they are inaugurated for habitation.
While it was the Minister’s expectations that developers and contractors speed up work and complete the projects on time, he gave a firm commitment that teething challenges mitigating against the speedy completion of the projects would be resolved.
On the Saglime Housing Project where the Minister also visited, the sector Minister, having had series of meeting with the technical working group working to bring finality on the project, has directed that within the next 5 weeks, an international expression of interest be issued to attract developers to come and complete the project for use, consistent with Carbinet’s decision to get private developers to partner government to complete the housing project.
