Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah has been dismissed by President Akufo-Addo from his position as Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Furthermore, the GRA board has been dissolved by the President.

Reports state that Julie Essiam has been named to succeed Rev. Dr. Owusu-Ansah.

There has been increasing pressure to remove Dr. Ammishaddai, as many groups claim he is too old to continue serving as a public official.

Sam George, a member of the Minority in Parliament from Ningo Prampram, has demanded his expulsion.

Because Rev. Ammishaddai had served longer than the required 60 years, Sam George declared him a persona non grata, implying that he had no legal agreement with the government.

Additionally, he advised businesses not to interact with Dr. Ammishaddai, claiming that he was ineligible to bind the state to any agreements.
