MTN Ghana will phase off its 2020 scratch card program starting on June 30, 2024.
Customers will not be able to recharge their accounts with these cards after July 1, 2024.
Chief Sales and Distribution Officer Samuel Addo stated in a statement on May 23, 2024, that clients can still use credit transfers at any MTN Customer Experience Center to redeem the value of their scratch cards.
This action supports the government’s digitalization objectives and is a component of MTN’s endeavor to lead digital solutions in Ghana.
Mr. Addo pointed out that eliminating scratch cards promotes digital usage, enhances customer service effectiveness, and helps save the environment.
“We’re phasing out scratch cards to protect the environment, empower customers to use digital methods, and enhance our customer service,” Mr Addo said.
MTN encourages users to refuel using digital platforms such as the myMTN app, MoMo, and Ayoba.
Customers that use Mobile Money to recharge will be rewarded with a 50% bonus, which will help to maintain a cleaner environment.
