President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo estimates that the Agenda 111 Hospital Project will produce about 67,000 employment when it is finished.
President Akufo-Addo said the program represents a transformative trajectory in the nation’s road towards reducing unemployment while delivering high-quality healthcare for the people, with each facility employing over 100 people.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the commissioning of the Adansi North Hospital in Fomena, Ashanti Region, the President emphasized the importance of the project and reiterated his administration’s commitment to seeing it through to completion.
“There’s an average number of 120 workers on each construction site, and when completed, an average of 559 persons will be employed in a district hospital, 1,343 in the regional hospital, and 947 in each psychiatric hospital. This means that 67, 635 people will be employed in the Agenda 111 Hospitals,” President Akufo-Addo stressed.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s major project, the Agenda 111 hospital project, intends to improve healthcare accessibility nationwide.
In the meantime, after a protracted delay in completion, President Akufo-Addo officially opened the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.
The project was started in 2014, but due to financial difficulties, it was repeatedly postponed.
This caused people of the Adansi Traditional Area to become concerned and asked the authorities to make sure the project was finished.
The President emphasized during the inauguration ceremony that the hospital’s completion demonstrated the government’s dedication to delivering state-of-the-art medical facilities that meet current national healthcare standards.
