The 2024 midyear budget has drawn criticism from the Minority in Parliament, who called it dreary and uninspired.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, claimed in a statement that the government lost a great chance to do away with levies like the e-levy, which have been suffocating Ghanaians lately.

According to Dr. Forson, Ghanaians anticipated the removal of taxes like the COVID Levy, E-levy, and emission levy.

The MP from Ejumako Enyan Essian charged that the administration led by Akufo-Addo lacked economic acumen.

He claims that the administration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is going to face opposition due to a lack of ideas.

This follows Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam’s mid-year budget statement to Parliament on Tuesday, July 23.
