Three unnamed people have been declared dead after a horrific accident on Saturday night in East Legon, Accra,
CCTV footage shows that overspeeding was the cause of the accident, which resulted in a deadly collision.
One person has been recovered, according to ADO Nartey of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and rescuers are still working to free a second body that is entangled in the debris.
The victims’ vehicle, an Acura, was in motion.
In a video that was shared on the GNFS Facebook page, firemen can be seen slicing through the burnt car parts while smoke is still pouring out of the area. They are also wearing specialist equipment.
Two young women were among the victims; their bodies were completely destroyed by fire.
