The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is enhancing the capabilities of its district and regional key personnel as well as a few head office employees.

In order to improve healthcare delivery, a training workshop on its Biometric Membership Authentication System (BMAS), which is being implemented in all Nhia-credentialed healthcare facilities, was organized.

Given the scope of the national rollout, it was thought to be essential to provide in-depth training for the key NHIA district employees, particularly the MIS officers and District Managers, who are in charge of owning the project, educating health facility users, implementing, and supporting the solution in their districts.

It is anticipated that this will generate support, increase awareness, and guarantee the solution’s smooth implementation.

Monday, November 18, 2024, marked the start of the five-day training program, which will end on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Following the successful completion of the restricted rollout of several BMAS solution versions, which cleared the path for the complete deployment to all NHIA-credentialed health care sites nationwide, the training has become essential.

With Daniel Blankson as the Ag. Director, MIS, and Joe Annor-Darkwah as the Ag. Deputy Director, Business Systems, as the Project Coordinator, the BMAS, powered by the MIS Directorate in partnership with Margins Ghana Ltd, has a project support team that includes Enoch Affanyi, Victor Baddoo, Orison Afflu, and Samson Anim.

The Authority’s continuous efforts to enhance Ghana’s National Health Insurance, membership identification, and claims vetting processes include this program.
