Election Day, December 7, 2024, will see many media briefings by the Electoral Commission (EC) to give rapid information on the election process.
In addition to providing a forum for discussing reports and stories from throughout the nation, accredited media professionals are invited to cover the sessions.
The initial briefing is set for 9:00 am, and updates are planned for 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. Additional briefings will be held starting at 9:00 p.m. once the regions’ results are received. The maximum duration of each session is thirty minutes.
The EC underlined how crucial it is to confirm election-related reports with the Commission in order to stop unconfirmed information from spreading. The public is urged to seek clarifications by calling the European Commission’s toll-free line, 0800 324 324.
The EC’s dedication to holding free, fair, credible, and peaceful elections was reiterated by Samuel Tettey, deputy chairman for operations. “We’re excited to collaborate with the media to make the election process more accessible to the public,” he continued.
