Adam Mutawakilu, a former member of parliament for the Savannah Region’s Damango Constituency, has been named by President John Dramani Mahama as the Ghana Water Company Limited’s (GWCL) acting CEO with immediate effect.

Dr. Clifford Braimah, a Gonja from the Savannah Region, the region where the current President resides, will be replaced by Mutawakilu.

Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution, which gives the President the authority to name CEOs of State-Owned Enterprises, was cited in a letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, making the announcement.
