The minority in Parliament is working to determine the reason for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) crushing loss in the 2024 elections, according to Adjei Mensah Korsah, the member of parliament representing Techiman South.
Adjei Mensah Korsah told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM that the Minority’s action is not intended to compromise the Mike Ocquaye Committee’s efforts.
Instead, it is essential since it will give the party a variety of viewpoints so they may determine the precise reason behind their loss.
“I know there is something by the parliamentary group as well. There is some effort to ascertain the cause of the defeat. It is good because, my brother, if you get it from different angles, you will see that the common areas will feature. So it gives you the benefit of comparing various views and opinions, so for me, if you get ten of them, it is fine,” he reiterated.
There is no attempt to circumvent the committee that the political party commissioned, Adjei Mensah Korsah stressed.
“Don’t forget that some people started their fact-finding before the Ocquaye Committee was commissioned. The party cannot stop that, but officially we have what the party is working with. When the people are done, they can present it to the party for it to be interrogated, but the party cannot stop anyone from doing their research,” he stated.
“When the Ocquaye Committee report comes, they will compare with other research and there will be a meeting point and the principle will always be established. Things may be different, but the same perspective. It does not really change anything if there are several researches; rather, it guides you and helps authenticate what you’ve done,” he added.
