With effect from Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the interior minister has reviewed the curfew hours for Nkwanta Township and the surrounding area in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, which are set from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the recommendation of the Oti Regional Security Council.
The government wants to encourage everyone to use the established procedures to settle all of their disagreements and conflicts and to display restraint.
In the meantime, the government would like to restate that it is illegal for anybody in Nkwanta Township and the surrounding areas to possess firearms, ammunition, or any other type of offensive weapon.
Anyone caught in possession of these items will be detained and punished.
