Three suspects have been taken into custody by the Ashanti Regional Police Command in relation to the killing and robbery of two Kumasi mobile money merchants. Authorities are requesting the public’s help in locating a fourth suspect who is still at large.

Philip Fordjour, 29, Samuel Addae Mensah, 42, and Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as Kwame Charles or Miami, were arrested and taken to Pankrono and Atimatim, respectively, on March 21, 2025.

They will shortly be arraigned in court to face the full force of the law, but for now, they are in police custody.

A fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or Baba Macho, is being actively sought by the police. He is thought to be in hiding in Accra, Diaso, which is close to Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region, or Kumasi.

DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, asked the public to help find Baba Macho during a press conference in Kumasi on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Police via Toll-Free number 191,112 (18555 MTN and Telecel),” he appealed.

“The Ashanti Regional Police Command remains committed to ensuring justice is served and urges the public to remain vigilant in helping to bring all responsible individuals to justice,” he stated.

He also gave the people more assurances about the police’s dedication to justice.

Patricia Nimako, the victim of the first incident, was brutally murdered during a heist at Krofrom on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Another mobile money salesman, Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also called Junior, was robbed and slain at his Kwadaso home on the evening of Monday, March 10, 2025, in the second attack.

Although the arrests represent a significant development in the case, authorities are committed to making sure that everyone who committed the crimes is held accountable.

In order to bring the last suspect to justice, the public is urged to maintain their vigilance and assist law enforcement.
