A man who was seen firing a gun in Jamestown, Accra, in a widely shared video has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service.

After an intelligence-led operation, the suspect—29-year-old Samuel Aryeetey Kortor—was captured on April 9, 2025.

According to a police statement, initial inquiries suggest that Kortor is also wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) Homicide Unit in relation to a murder case.

A Beretta pistol with serial number PX-195994 was found during a search of his home in Gbese-Jamestown.

While efforts are underway to arrest other suspects connected to the case, he is currently in police custody helping with investigations.
