As part of the government’s efforts to create a 24-hour economy, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) plans to open its first operational service center on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the Adentan municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

The new state-of-the-art facility, which is ideally situated at the GAPTE (Ayalolo) Head Office close to Ritz Junction on Ashaley Botwe Road (GPS: GD-023-2181), intends to make DVLA services more accessible to the general public and offer constant access to vital licensing and registration services.

“This bold step positions DVLA as one of the first public service institutions to extend operations in direct support of the national 24-hour economy policy,” said DVLA Chief Executive, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey.”

“The Adentan office will serve customers around the clock, ensuring convenience and flexibility for all motorists.”

The facility will provide all DVLA services, such as car registration, driver’s license applications, and renewals.

According to the Authority, the change aims to greatly increase accessibility, lessen service bottlenecks, and improve the general consumer experience.

“We are adopting internationally accepted practices in road safety and licensing management to ensure world-class service delivery.” Mr. Kotey said, reinforcing the DVLA’s dedication to providing services that adhere to international standards.

Relatedly, the DVLA is about to launch a brand-new public engagement campaign called “Time with the Chief Executive.”

Journalists and members of the public will have the chance to communicate with the DVLA CEO directly through this platform, voice concerns, ask questions, and find out more about current and planned projects within the Authority.

To see what it calls “a new era in public service — accessible, efficient, and always open,” the DVLA is inviting the public, media, and stakeholders to the inauguration ceremony.
