A new police station at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has been put into operation by Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak in an effort to improve security and offer the university community improved policing services.
The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing policing services across the country while speaking at the ceremony and praising the Ghana Police Service and UPSA community for their cooperation in making the project a reality. “Our commitment to guaranteeing the safety and security of our citizens is demonstrated by this police station,” he said.

Hon. Muntaka reiterated the government’s dedication to aiding security forces in their endeavors to protect civilians. He also called on the public to collaborate with law enforcement, recognize and resolve security issues, and foster a culture of safety and security.
Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Inspector General of Police, stated in a statement read on his behalf that he is dedicated to preserving the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the enforcement of law and order and the preservation of peace to the best of his ability.
Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, the Vice Chancellor of UPSA, thanked the Ghana Police Service and the government for their cooperation in erecting the police station.
He stated that in addition to creating a favorable learning environment, the building will improve the safety and security of students, employees, and guests.
Members of the Police Management Board, UPSA management, the Ag. Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, Mrs. Doreen Annan, and the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, also attended the commissioning.
